UTAH SCHOOL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION-LEGAL SERVICES AND BENEFITS

As a member of USEA, you are entitled to several legal-services benefits.

EMPLOYMENT-RELATED LEGAL SERVICES
All USEA members are entitled to representation and, if necessary, legal services for employment-related matters. Employment-related matters include grievances and disciplinary matters, patron claims against you, workers' compensation, and other matters arising from your job.

Disputes involving insurance provided by your district as a benefit of employment are employment-related.

Terms and conditions of representation for employment-related legal services are set out in USEA's Representation Policy and Guidelines, available from the USEA office.

LEGAL DEFENSE FUND
USEA members experiencing employment-related legal problems, who are not otherwise represented by USEA, may apply for assistance from the USEA Legal Defense Fund. The Fund may provide up to $1,500 to a member for defense against criminal charges or civil claims arising out of employment-related acts or omissions.
